Little Sahara does not have too many problems with witch eyes, but razor backs form after big wind storms. I have ridden there several times, and only after 2 days of 50 mph winds, I found a few witch eyes.

Make sure you have a 14' (I think)flag, most flags sold are too short, and wont ring their bar you must go through. The proper flags are available at their store. Helmets are required, and be careful. Always use a spotter when jumping up or down a dune.

As you ride in the main gate, and go to the right, the dunes start to get bigger and bigger, and drop off quickly. It is fairly flat, and looks that way, until all of sudden, the bottom drops out.

I made the mistake of going 5th gear pinned off one of those dunes, on accident, and about shattered all the teeth in my mouth when I landed, a big and almost deadly mistake that I managed to ride out without crashing. I was sore for a week.

Dunes change daily depending on the weather, so caution is paramount. Always ride with a buddy, have a headlight and a tail light for night riding, or they will jam you up at night. Don't speed in the campground, the rangers sit with radar guns making sure you are creeping along. 1st gear is fine, no more.

Use a wax based chain lube, or non greasy, the sand sticks to everything. Bring something to clean your air filter. Paddles are not necessary, but definitely make the riding a lot more enjoyable. I found I had some problems with the race fuel they sold at the little store, it had lots of water in it and my quad ran like crap. I bring my own now. That may have been fixed now, it was last year when that happened.

Take some extra cash and put your quad on the dyno there. Mike is really good with the dyno and you can dial in your quad while you are there.

Have fun, you will be hooked like I was.... and if you wouldn't have picked those exact days, I would have met you down there. Except, I have a supercross race that weekend and I will only be home for 2 weeks on leave. Post some pictures when you return.

In case you didn't realize it, it will be very very hot there, so drink lots of water during the day. There are lots of sandy trails to ride through the trees too, if you get bored of drag racing, and lots of big sandy whoop sections to blitz through. Always watch out for the little guys cruising the dunes as well, they don't always watch where they are going, or even some adults. Stay away from the sand rails, those guys fly, and will kill you if they hit you. I usually park on a high point and watch them so they can see me and I can see them.

Bring a roll of quarters if you want to take a hot shower there. They take quarters only, and it is well worth the 2 bucks some days. There are some great restaurants in town to eat at, only about 2 miles from the park.

week.

Good stuff Husker, especially these two points.^

Be very careful since its you're first time. Don't get over confident or it'll humble you real quick lol.

We go to Waynoka at least a couple times a month throughout the riding season, and like he said it will be hotter than hell there right now. Hopefully you're taking a camper or enclosed trailer with AC. And if they don't have an awning, take an easy-up to hide from the sun during the day. Easy-ups also work great for parking your quad under(especially if it rains). It keeps the sun off your bike and keeps the seat cooler when you're ready to ride. And yeah, after a day of riding in 100 degree weather, the showers are definitely worth a couple bucks!

trip has changed to the 23-26th if anyone is going then let me know

not to burst your bubble but unless u get lucky it will be very hot we went done once in late may and it was really hot then around 100 degrees. A group from around here went down in the middle of June once and they only stayed for a day consider it was 110. It doesnt seem real bad but the sand reflects the heat or something and it gets really hot out there. So look at the weather before you go.
