I had a Proflo, and i could easily pull off the filter and clean it.

Now i upgraded to a FCI and im running it in the Stock box, but do you have to pull the whole setup off to pull the filter off.

That would suck

Any ideas??

You can pull just the filter off the intake boot to clean it.

ya, you will have to pull the box the get the filter out.
its a tight fit.

but then again you could just man handle it to get it off. not something i would do. i've done it but its just not worth it.

just yank the whole thing. its gotta be done. sorry.

Did you see the part where i said i was using the stock box.

I really dont think you can put the filer on the tube in the box. Trust me.

So i guess its true, you gota pull the system to clean filter

you can force it but it isn't easy...i never remove my box to clean my filter... your filter might get a little crushed on the end in the process.

i like my K&N icon_biggrin.gif mhihi.gif one little clamp bolt thing and it pulls right off

You can get the filter on and off without taking the airbox off ( it's a biotch). I have the back cut off the airbox and it makes it a lot easier. These are pictures of another members setup.

Ya, you can order those from any K&N dealer. They run about $20 on average.

Really? Mine has never blown anything out. I have the FCI intake and just leave the crankcase breather hose sitting there by the filter without any mod, never had a problem. Do you still have that little black box installed in front of the coolent reservoir?

??... I run a FCI intake with the stock box and I've never had problem pulling the filter off and putting it on.

No i run a aftermarket Hermann 6 point subframe and there is no holes to mount the box,,,,

thus the reason for the whole "T" Setup.

Now back to the filer cleaning.

Cuting the back of the box might work easier, but i HAVE to have a full box.

We cross a river all the time where we go riding the most, and it cant leak at all.
