Guys I need some help. My last race was Saturday, I thought about getting hurt. This has been going on for a few months now... I've never been like this. If it doesn't change I'm done. I know what happens when you think about getting hurt, you get hurt. Any tips will be greatly appriciated

Whoa!!!!!!!!!! Do not count yourself out so soon. I will go out on a limb and say that if people answered honestly, most, if all riders would say that they have gone through stages where they thought about getting hurt. Sometimes it lasts for a few hours, sometimes days, sometimes a few months.
Either you have seen something bad happen, listened to too many crash stories, or had a close call, because something is causing you to worry. What worked for me was free riding. Not riding on a track, just go out to a wide open riding area of your choice and play ride. Keep play riding, no competition with friends, no pressure, and just go out and ride and clear your mind. Keep doing that until you build some confidence, then head to the track.
Each person is different, with their own individual worries and fears. You have to find out what exactly your fear is, then figure out how to fight through it. It is more about getting your self confidence back, something has rattled it. If you are racing, try and remember why it is you are racing. Ask yourself why you ride, and why you are racing? Is it for the competition, or the love of riding. Get back to the love of riding and worry less about the competition aspect.
Ok, your time is up, get off my couch and show me the money.....just kidding, hope I offered some small assistance.

^ couldn't have said it any better. when you start getting to the point you are at you have to get back to the basics so to speak. just to rebuild that confidence level

My biggest problem is watching the motos before mine of the other classes. I see them hitting some sketchy jumps or getting kicked sideways and landing bad or crashing and it sticks in my head sometimes. But I try and watch why they were kicked that way or what caused the accident and kind of ask my self how I would correct it if it happened to me.
Sometimes I worry about the broken bones and stuff but It all seems to go away when I pull up to the gate. Its like I just get into that zone and there is nothing on my mind but going fast lol.
Husker's tips are all great and I agree with everyone. free riding can really help grow your confidence. Sometimes I liked to get on a trail or something at my house that has some sketchy spots and just blast it. Ride it like a freakin big foot is chasing me. It helps my confidence to know i can navigate that rough terrain like that with wash outs, logs, etc.
being comfortable with your bike will do wonders for you out there.
Crashes are gonna happen, but it seems like they happen a lot more when you dont ride 100% and commit to the jumps and stuff.
Good luck

what helps me is to just do it, take five mins think about it( positively) fire the bike up take a little circle lap, as soon as you line up and give it the buck wheat and at like you have no brakes so you have to do it. once you do it its gone and just remember to keep cool and breath.
2. if you lost someone that ment anything to you( deathwise ) just do it for them, i had this problem but it was right after my cuz got killed, now everytime i ride and i fear something im tell myself he wouldve talk me threw it and helped me, when me and a buddy did a 20-30 foot drop in to a downhill , i backed up put it in 1st and just thought about him, and then i just did it.
this might not work for you because it all depends on that adrenaline rush and just suck in it up...which is tough..
hope you get over it bro

Hehehe. I'm over it. Raced at Little Powersports MX last night (Keith Little's family owned track) and went 5-1 for the overall SX style scoring. I pulled the holeshot in qualifing and led the first two laps until i kinda sorta overcleared the biggest jump out there (DA) lol and in the main I pulled the holeshot again and well this time lets say i didnt wreck. I appriciate all the good info guys it really helped me.
