Yeah, yeah.. newb gear mistake.. I've only been riding for about 3 years now so shoot me.. lol
I got a new rear gear and a new chain.. I went up one or two teeth in the back.. holy crap was that NOT worth the money.. For anyone wondering; go at least 3 in the back to notice a gain.. +3 in the back is equal to -1 in the front; IIRC.
This was soooo subtle I can hardly notice it.. But in my little 'bowl of madness' (as I call it) at the do0ns, It seemed to have made a little bit of a difference.. In mid third gear, I was a little higher in the RPM's.. Which is what I wanted, but +3 in the back or a -1 front would have been the way to go.
Anyway... that's my $0.02... Carry on..

I think I have a -1 in the rear and it affected my top end a bit. Low end there is nothing..

you do realize when you say "Instead of being mid third gear, I was a little higher in the RPM's" that it makes absolutely no sense?
smaller rear makes you have a higher top speed but it takes longer to get there. As a result there is more strain on the motor and your motor will have a harder time turning the wheels (meaning that mid 3rd hill would be a mid/low 3rd hill or high 2nd with the new gearing with all other conditions being equal).

Darn drunk posts.. My bad..
it was a +1 rear... it was just a little higher in the R's in my little bowl I play in at the pits. Really not too much of a change.
