I have one small jump out by my house right now.Its actually going out of a Retention pond. The take-off is mybe 3ft long, and its probly 100 yards wide. the it goes to flat ground. like a step up. I used to hit it on my raptor 660 and get 5ft of air in high rpms of 3rd gear. With my thumb throttle. Well now i have a yfz 450 im actually going to race and jump. But everytime i jump my rear end drops. i fell twice trying it. I think maybe its because the angle is so high that im forced to the back of the quad and pulling the "twist throttle" as i try to grip the bars, causing the back end to go down. But im not sure.
Please help?
I have the stock throttle i just dont know how to change it..... icon_cry.gif

One thing I noticed between the YFZ and my old KFX400 is the YFZ tends to jump very flat. From what I was told it is the way the front a-arms are angled in the frame..or not angled in this case??? One thing you can do...just found this out...is set the race stance so you are 3/4" nose high. After reading a few things last night on suspension setup it seems as though the YFZ's like a little more rake than the other brands. Go to GT Thunder and read the suspension setup and it will tell you how to get that 3/4" rake.

Also with the twist throttle is a little harder and takes some practice, to blip the throttle and preload the suspension coming from a thumb throttle.

usually with a short face you go rear high, to correct that rev with the clutch out.. if the rear is low grab the back brake in the air... but careful dont land with the brake on. other then that it is probably just the face is too short.
