i've ridden and raced a couple of the quads with their old 460cc kit and was not impressed at all. my piped and filtered yfz was eating them up. My quad definitely ran better, considering i was able to get seat time on my quad and the esr one in the same ride. Not sure on the 470 kit though. It's too bad becasue i am an ESR fan.

Yeah the fact that their bikes had an increased displacement explains why you beat them
Wiesco Piston's are going to be harder on the cylinder walls than a CP would be plus the CP has a better design for both longevity through structural integrity and oiling properties

Maybe you should read the post first. He asked for an opinion, i gave one on the limited experience i have had with the ESR kits. That reading thing, it's hard.

Yeah you are displaying its difficulty quite eloquently.
You said you were disappointed with the 460 kit because you beat some bikes with it. Really? Should I be disappointed in the stock cylinder because I beat a stock bike? Or should I be disappointed in Venom heads and nmotion cylinders and dasa pipes because I've beaten bikes with them? And since when has changing a cylinder ever increased power? Sure a new cylinder compared to a worn or cylinder could.
Beyond performance in the gained 10cc's of the 460 kit the benefits are in durability (or at least they should be). Increasing displacement is never bad for performance and I would never be disappointed in gained CC's because ESR cc's are the same as Athena cc's or Maxpower cc's or nmotion cc's. The differences are negligible if any and the price difference lies in the durability, construction, promotion, and name.
You sure about being disappointed in the cylinder?

There you go again, magically making up words that were never said. You my friend are truly amazing. Please, old wise one, point to my first comment where I said "their increased displacement explains why i beat them." And then i would appreciate it if you would point to my second post where i said, "I am dissapointed in the cylinders." Now, if you pay attention really hard to my original post, and like i said, i know that's EXTREMELY difficult for you, i said that i have beat multiple bikes with that kit AND that i have personally had seat time on them. But wholly smokes, you are truly amazing, being able to decipher everything you said from those few sentences. What are you doing here on this website, you should be running for presidency or something. Go ahead, I'm sure you will make up something i said again.

Its really cute when people try to sound smart. You failed btw
Oh and you said you were disappointed with the 460 kit because you beat a few of them. Well guess where the performance benefit of that kit comes from? The increased displacement. You lose.
I'm not going to continue this with such a person.

No i don't lose, you do. please go back to my first post, the very first sentence and READ. i said i have ridden them. I have personally rode them. From one little sentence after that saying that i beat them with my quad you were able to fabricate phantom arguments. the VERY FIRST SENTENCE, please read it to me and and tell me what it says. Anybody that can read and comprehend, can see that the basis for my argument was that i have ridden multiple quads with the ESR 460cc kit. For your own sake put the dunce hat on and just quit already.

Awww... Not only can he not read, but he can't even read what he wrote! It doesn't matter if you rode one or raced one. You can't be unimpressed with a big bore kit for any reason other than durability, fit & finish, or appearance. Why? A cc is a cc. Do you just not get this? Are you that closed?

No, a cc is not a cc. by your theory a raptor would absolutely demolish aa yfz450. And with big bore kits there are other things than just a cc. bore/hone job done on the cylinder, the style and design of the piston, etc. i'm done arguing with you. Any reasonable person could see what i meant, but your an 18 year old kid who thinks that he knows everything, and loves to be a smart a$$ any chance you get. I stand by my original statement, from my personal experience actually riding multiple quads with ESR 460cc kit, i was not impressed. The 470cc kit may rock, i don't know have not been on one. I'm sure you are going to take that statement and transfer it into me thinking the jug is junk, and the piston sucks and a cc is not a cc, etc. etc. You are a joke and not worth anymore of my time.

Yeah comparing a Raptor 700 to a yfz 450 is such an awesome comparison. Wait... Oh yeah I forgot everything about those two motors are different not just the cylinder. Guess it was terrible... And if you look back at my previous posts, you'll see I said new versus worn cylinders which encompasses honing differences, and to bring bore differences into it is pure foolishness. As for the piston, Wiesco's may not be the choice for most builds but the performance of a shelf Wiesco compared to a shelf CP is close enough to call the differences negligible. The 470 kit wouldn't do much in any over the 460 than the 460 does over a 450. Why? 10cc's are 10cc's. Sure there is a point of diminishing returns based off head designs, but for the sake of argument the difference is negligible.
So what did you not like about it from riding one and racing against a few? Was it the ESR kit or the fact that the gains from 10cc's are maybe a few HP? And can carb tuning and rider skill not make up for those few hp? Just a thought. Oh and I'm not your friend... I like people who can think... Just a thought...
Your attempts to turn this error into me being cocky are quite amusing. And if you actually had such a vast amount of experience you would agree with what I've said. If you think another 460 kit is going to give any significant gain over the ESR kit then I hate to tell you but recess is over.
