Is anybody riding in the St. louis area. I moved here recently and don't have anybody to ride with or know where any places to ride are. If you know of any or interested in hitting the track or something sometime let me know.

My whole family struggles through the obviously desolate and barren riding scene in StL.
St. Joe state park is a blast,
Finger Lakes is solid as long as it hasn't rained recently, and Action Motocross is also a respectable and usually has well faced jumps. I haven't been to
Waw00tera offroad park in a while and I need to go back because they have a massive tabletop that would rock if it was faced right. I went on a muddy day.

allright, censorship machine. It's not waw00teria mx park. It's Wa$h1ta MX park. Pronounced Wah-shee-tah
Obviously, get to know people. I know a dude out 44 with a private track I've hit twice. It's small, but riding is riding and getting your fix is getting your fix. I'm always looking for more land, but I'm quiet and don't get out much so I've just got the one spot there. I'm CADding up a good medium/small portable FQX launch ramp, but I need someone with a pile of dirt if I want to use it.

You've got yourself an information-packed PM with a bunch of details that would have been tedious and uninformative to post publicly.

YES! i go there all the time. i can clear every jump there now. (YFZ is much better than the ol' blaster on tracks) im thinking of going tuesday, cause its my spring break and its supposed to be sunny and 70, plus sat is supposed to rain i think. ill go check.
Joester
Mar 12 2009, 05:16 PM
its "mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of pm showers and a high of 54" Im down if my mom will go.. im only 17 and you have to be 18 to sign for yourself (kinda sucks for me) maybe jimmy will go too, hes supposed to not ride till the 20th due to arm injury, but maybe he'll break the rules

if Jim went he can sign for me.
holydiver
Mar 12 2009, 05:17 PM

Joester
Mar 12 2009, 05:30 PM
well riding fee used to be $15 and the membership was $150 and now that the fee is $10 its only logical for me to assume its $100. im not sure though. I know it WAS $150. for a year all-you-can-ride pass.

Mar 13 2009, 05:20 AM
Holydiver, I should probably be able to get my yfz finished today, and maybe bomb around a bit tomorrow at the track if you're in. I'm not technically supposed to be riding yet, but I'm only a week away. (shoulder complications) Worst comes to worst I'll just get a few laps in on Joe's quad.
I had an Exx-x-xtreme painting disaster last night at about midnight, so I got set back a bit on my a-arm painting. I had everything fixed by about 1:00 and it looks great this morning, so hopefully I can lay on the clear coat today and pop all the seals on tomorrow morning once it cures. We'll see. When you see my bike you'll probably agree that this is not something that can stand to be rushed.
Joester
Mar 13 2009, 08:19 AM
hes just jealous of or SEs, lol
jim can sign for me so my mom might not even have to go. i might have another guy coming from my school too, and he ALSO has an 07 YFZ gray SE. we should form a gang.
holydiver
Mar 13 2009, 09:26 AM
Yes its a hot topic I'm proud now. And jim your ac is fine you can ride I drove by the track yesterday and there was some mud like the other day so hopefully it will dry up.
JimmyHoffa
Mar 13 2009, 09:34 AM
Came back after I went out and about for a bit. Clear coated the arms at 8:30. Still real tacky at 12:30. YFZ gets saved for later, I guess... I'll show up tomorrow to say hey and whatnot. I might bring the Racing Recon and break it in. Rebuilding that buttcrack of a bike was my last project, and I need to work the kinks out of it.
I can always just walk around with a shovel and you guys can tell me which jumps are off camber. I'll go sharpen one up now.
holydiver
Mar 13 2009, 09:49 AM
You know what that sounds like a good idea ill bring a shovel just encase you forget. So I take it you know a lot about quads and bikes. When I get my pipe and intake in you want to help jet and work out the kinks?
Joester
Mar 13 2009, 10:48 AM
not to be cocky but were both pretty good with them, jim is better
holydiver
Mar 13 2009, 01:00 PM

JimmyHoffa
Mar 13 2009, 03:19 PM
We can help you stack it all on your bike one weekend. I just got lots finished on my quad. All the paint work is done and curing, all shocks reassembled and put back on, brakes rebuilt and ready to put on, EHS filter lid finished, everything else cleaned and organized and ready to go on. I'll be at the track tomorrow, breakin' in the pony. (The stupid slow fat pony, 2004 Honda Recon. 15 WHP.)

Mar 16 2009, 05:11 PM

Joester
Mar 16 2009, 05:24 PM

JimmyHoffa
Mar 16 2009, 07:22 PM
I scored those ITP beadlocks, got the bike pretty much all the way together, and am getting some graphics on the way. Joe was deceived by the state of my bike in the garage. It's all full of fluids and 10 minutes of work away from starting. Bike will be done Friday night. I might bounce to the track Sunday if it all falls together. We could always decide to roll out to Sullivan if you were interested to scope things out. I got motivated and I've got a trick up my sleeve I'd like to run by you... just to see what you thought...
hint. hint.

Mar 17 2009, 05:06 PM
this is awesome. i was planning on going sunday too! i got another guy that rides a raptor 350 that wants to come and try his hand at the jumps (although hes not so great) so if he leaves early then you guys can still be there.
do you have texting tom?
JimmyHoffa
Mar 17 2009, 05:14 PM
Well, this is my idea.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMAq_bAKc1clook how incredibly easy that looks, and how it takes maybe the middle of 3rd to lob it over. I found the plans for it, and I have a welder. Note the almost bone stock blaster having no trouble, and getting mass air. I've always wanted to do this. I know you want one. Don't tell me you don't want one.
