Full Version: 51hp And 35tq For $250 Total On Suzuki Ltr450
YFZCentral > :::YFZCentral Advertisers::: > Venom Performance
mixxer
so here it is.... the difference from bone stock .... to :

pulled airbox lid
uncorked stock exhaust
CRBM fuel curve switchHot Cams intake Cam
K&N air filter for stock box
Window cut in airbox

Close to +11HP and +7 TQ ...
for a total of 51.08HP and 35.01TQ....
for a total budget of about $250

at this point, this 08 LTR450 would seriously hurt the feelings of plenty of 450's that have a good amount of $$ spent on them..... if i wasn't doing R&D for Venom .... i'd be pretty darn happy with the power curves just as they are.... :)

i have a full dyno evolution of all the mods tested separately listed on TRX450R.ORG in my sposnor section over there....

and right now i'm going to work on posting them all on LTR450Central

Yeah I agree! I didn't think this was LTR450Central. I thought I logged in to talk about YFZ's.
r1yfz
thats alot of TQ for 51hp
Stix1107
those are some good gains off of very few mods.

But I want to so it doesnt back up what i have personally experience, and I think that is based on the weight difference between yfz's and ltr's

I pulled several ltr's, and trx's for that matter, that had motors that were more built than mine, and put up bigger numbers aswell last weekend.

Weight plays a big part as do rider skill, but the riders were better than me so im gonna blame it on weight lol.

flip2spin
gotta have all that tq for a extra weight of a ltr
mixxer
to all the whiners who are opposed to learning anything about technical info in general.....

soooooooooo sorry for making you maybe have to think or learn something on accident.... i didn't know you actually felt pain when neurons tried to connect......

get over it.... the title says it's about an LTR...so if you don't want to know anything about another machine... i guess the simple solution would be to not click on the topic.... that would be a way of exercising your free will.....

and if no one has checked lately.... the new FI yfz's are now in the same weight category as the 700 Raptors....

also, the pro mx wins\championships on the ltr's don't seem to show them incapable as an off road competitive format....

the adult thing to do.... if you CHOSE to click on an informative thread... would be to choose to also learn something from it....instead of whine about it.....
YFZER359
i thought it was interesting lol thanks mixxer for puttin that on here

pretty off topic but uh how much would it take to get my head ported by you guys?
mixxer
porting is $525.... but there are better prices on package deals if you check out the Venom Website @

www.venomperformance.net
YFZER359
525 canadian? and is that shipping back and forth?
yaidunno
guys...i think we all need to head to the suzuki dealer
-Justin-
What is the CRBM fuel curve switch? Is this similar to the Yoshi Cherry Bomb? Forgive my ignorance, but I was just telling my good friend about this development and he's going to be in touch with you mixxer.

BTW, I'm loving my new Venom/Terse motor!

Venom is based in the US and works with the US Dollar.... all of Venom's pricing is in US dollars
YFZER359
yea i thought of that after i posted that lol

bit would that price include shipping back and forth?

Not to speak for Venom, but I just had my head ported by them, and you pay shipping. I'm sure they can quote you a shipped price however icon_biggrin.gif

OK, now I have to put on my "Bad guy, buzz kill, moderator hat". Seriously, this arguing is kinda dumb. While this is a YFZ site, and this post is about an LT-R........does bickering really help a damn thing? When I saw a post about an LT-R I thought to myself "I don't give a damn about an LT-R, so I'm not gonna read that." But after I saw how many replies this had in such a short time and I noticed it was mixxer's topic, I thought I'd skim through it. And sure enough like always...........it turns into a typical mixxer thread.

mixxer- I realize you feel like you are just sharing knowledge that you have spent YEARS gaining, and people should be grateful that you choose to do so. But I have noticed that this type of thing seems to follow you around for whatever reason. I have talked to a couple people that know you a lot better than I do, and have been assured that you are an A+ stand up guy so I have no problem with you whatsoever. I realize that you are sharing knowledge that helps you make your living and a lot of people have no idea about, but sometimes it's best just to let it go. You can't teach people if they don't want to learn, and I guess some people just take it as you trying to be a know-it-all. Anyway my point is that it's pointless and stupid for these posts to continually turn south like they do. Like I said, you're cool with me so please don't take this as me calling you out or anything...........I'm just saying. icon_cool.gif

As for everybody else...........if you don't like mixxer, think he doesn't know what he's talking about, don't care to hear his opinion on things or whatever then just don't click on his posts! Pretty simple. People post things like "Who cares, this is a YFZ site." and then when mixxer gets a little pissed they say "Damn, that guy is an @sshole!" Which to me is like walking up to a sleeping dog, kicking it in the ribs and then going "That damn dog just bit me, can you believe that?!?!" While some of you were having a civilized discussion about this, there always seems to be someone that likes to get something started and it's just pointless and ignorant.

Bottom line- Would I post an LT-R discussion on this site? Probably not. Do I think it's wrong or against the rules to post LT-R discussions on this site? No I don't. Do I think it's stupid to argue about it for whatever reason? Yes I do. Do I think I'm perfect? No I don't. Do I make mistakes and post stupid things? Yes I do.

I honestly feel like I see both sides of this, I really do. But I just don't see what good it does to turn this thread into a pissing match. **Rant over** icon_biggrin.gif icon_bolt.gif

SyKo450
11hp for $250, not bad

How much does it cost a YFZ to gain 11hp?
Stix1107
lol good question.

all i was trying to say was that 11 hp gain on an ltr would be more like a 8 hp gain on a yfz. (give or take)

None the less you cant beat that amount of gain on 250 bucks. Hurry up with the rest of the ltr evolution
Blackedyfz450
i find this information good and see no problem with it being on this site, it gives a yfzs owner a heads up about the comp. what wrong with that! it would be cool to have over laying charts with all the 450's. starting at stock adding pipe all the way up..
MX Jeff
Thanks for posting...Im going to pass this info on to a buddy who has a LTR.

Pretty good info if you ask me. 08 LTR's came with more agressice cams than the previous models...they can be pretty quick.

Good info to know, since I was sharing this information with a friend who has an '06 LTR. Anyhow, the intake cam is aftermarket in this case. Any idea what if any changes were made from '06 to '08 on the exhaust cam? Hmm..

Not that my opinion is worth much around here, but I think people should losen up and just take the information for what it's worth. If anything technical discussion/debate about how and why this machine responds so well to such limited modification might prove useful in tweaking our own YFZ's. If there's anything I've learned through the years of tweaking/tuning is always know what's going on and what works and doesn't work for all makes and models. In my opinion it only puts you ahead in the end. Knowledge is horsepower my friends.
high octane junkie
do you think it's running a bit lean without a fuel controller? i have an 07 LTR and i have a distaste for the foam filter. i was eventually going to go k&n but i wanted to wait until i found the right exhaust so i can have a pcIII, exhaust, and filter tuned at the same time.

a pipe and intake & cam mod will usually get you to 47HP on my dyno..... there is more to be had.... but i don't know what someone would want to pick first at that point.....

the LTR make a lot of torque...

i can see both sides presented....

the posting i do represents not only a lot of work.... but a lot of honesty in reporting from a shop that makes money selling performance....

knowledge is the most universally useful tool.... and knowledge from experience can be applied to all sorts of engines.... so people should take it for what it's worth...free, honest info,.... no harm in that...

i put up buttloads of info for the yfz's too.... more than anyone else...

and nobody has to read any of it if they don't want to....free country....

we have the parts listed as a package HERE

we can also split them up and sell the parts individually.

thanks again. i do have the crbm. i won't do the hotcam yet.. if i'm going to remove the head i'm going to have it ported as well which i will then need the fuel controller. i'm going to get a k&n this weekend.

i'm wondering why yamaha didn't option to have a crbm for their yfzR? probably because the 700R didn't have an option like that. anyway i love fuel injection! i have the LTR, 734R, and a YFZR now.

i tested a very popular full system...and it lost power compared to the uncorked stocker.... then i added the quiet core and it lost a lot more power in the midrange.....

I tested a yosh ti and a rossier on an 08 and picked up about 1.5-2whp peak over stock uncorked and good bottom and mid. My 08 with dasa pipe, fuel intake, and hotcam intake cam made 53.5whp 36ftlbs. on a dyno that reads identical numbers to mixxer. I then added 14.1 piston and mild port work and got 55whp. 36.5ftlbs. No bad for very little invested. The 08 ltr is a very strong runner. This setup would own my buddies 07 yami with n motion pipe, fci intake, cam mod, 41mm carb and head port matched on intake side. His bike dynoed 52whp on my dyno. The ltr is heavier but makes much better torque and that makes up for most of the weight difference.

I agree with you that knowledge is a VERY useful tool. That's why I'm always on here.............trying to learn more about things of all kinds that will help me better understand my YFZ. I'm grateful that you are willing to share what has taken you years to learn with people because I know that not a lot of builders/tuners/shops will do that and I understand why. So like I said before, you and I are cool as far as I'm concerned. I just wanted to squash the negativity before it became a problem. icon_cool.gif

I personally have adapted many findings from other quad forums and knowledge to my yfz and friends quads, and find any and all out side brand info worth while. I do have my own business, well as a matter of fact 2, and with one of them I am not brand loyal and if some one comes to me with a ltr450 with given your tests and findings I can accurately apply those to him and what he may be needing out of his motor. I personally like all the data and tested and shown for us to read. But I guess some people don't want to hear that a brand or a company they chose to buy or ride is not in the leading edge in power (or sales) well they find the need to put down brand X instead of hearing what is said and hopefully apply it so that you can have an advantage over that brand X, or at least know in advance what it is you "could" be up against.
