Well, I just got orders to transfer to Indianapolis within the next 3 weeks. I am wandering what type of riding there is around the area? I will be living in Greenwood just south of Indy. I seen the Haspin Acres website, and i'll definately be hitting that up!! Any other places? Also, can you just go out to Haspin and ride the tracks/trails for fun and not race?
Thanks guys.

Haspin is ok to go to and yes it is a riding park so you can go there and just ride. I live about 45 mins south of Greenwood and work in Indianapolis. I race the IXCR series in Indiana and also the Lincoln Trail XC series in Casey, Ill. There is the Badlands that isnt too awful far from Indianapolis on the westside of Indiana. There are a lot of good places to ride. I dont know of many just riding places due to we run GNCC and the other 2 series. But Lawerence County Rec Park is just down SR37 about an hour from you and that is a park that we race at and is also open for riding. Depending on what you are into i can prolly help you out with some spots. We mainly just ride on friends and families property trying to keep in shape for GNCC. But let me know if you have any questions..

^^^couldn't have explained it better. The Badlands in Attica In is far better for recreational riding than Haspin though. Nanny, I am unaware of the place you are talking about in Lawerence County? got any other details?

Sure do.. The Lawerence County Rec Park is ABATE owned and they opened it up to riding. Like i said we run 2 races there in the IXCR.com series. There are some fun hills, creeks, and trails to ride there. The website for it is CLICK >
Lawerence County/ ABATE and it kind of gives some brief information. If you travel 37 south from Indy or where ever you will shoot through Bloomington and its about 10 miles south of bloomington in Juda. At that stop light you turn right. They hold the well known biker event THE BOOGIE there.... That might help out... But you should hit it up sometime.
Also there is a lot to do if you are into flat track racing. I know in Plainfield we was running some races there right off 40 in Plainfield. They used to only run bikes but we had some people that wanted to show up and they started allowing quads. And then of course all of the fair races... Hope this helps

Lawrence Co. looks great, Haspin looks good. I read Moto-Supreme was closed down and was invite only? Any other places, I like all types of riding! Trail, Woods, Track...anything within an hour or so, I'm game!! I will camp even and spend the weekend.
Does anyone happen to have the address for Lawrence? Thanks!

Lawrence Co is small and is just a big play ground. If you really like trail riding or want to go somewhere where there is large amounts of land go to Daniel Boone in Hyden,KY or Redcrest or Harlan County Ky.

On the east side i believe right off of 40 kind of getting close towards the west side of indy there is a little strip club and right behind it there is a flat track. They call it like Indianapolis Speedway or something. It was always mainly a bike track but about 2 years ago they started letting us run quads. I ran a couple races and havent been back. IDK if they are still doing it or not. But i know its there...LOL . You might check more into it.

Ok I know where that is, that is Dancer's Strip Club, that is still technically Indianapolis since its east of the county line. I wonder how I could find out if they are still doing it there or not?

The Track at Dancers has been Shut down for QUITE a while ... I drive by it everyday ...
For trail Playing there is also MULE RIDGE and LCR and the Badlands ... I HATE Haspin but that is just me, a lot of people like it but i feel it is WAY to UNORGINIZED for me to ever go back ....
There is also a Memeber only place In Casey ILL. that has a GREAT MX Track and some pretty decent woods .... It is about 1.5hrs west of Indy on I-70 .... it is a really nice place to ride ...

Yeah i run Casey, Ill. We go there and run their XC series around the IXCR and GNCC and have a good time. It is an hour from where i live. They have a real nice moto track and run harescrambles. They have a few 2 day weekend gigs that are fun to hit up.
heres their site
Casey, Ill Site----- ClickyI have never rode at Haspin. Always hear too many horror stories. So i stick to the badlands, LCR and personal property.

Yeah we just went to the DNR property in Lynville. I was pretty fun. There wasnt a ton of trails but it was a big play ground. Hopefully we will be going down there a lot more often. We only live about 70 miles from there. The day we went ther it was VERY MUDDY! The sunday after Thanksgiving. I was going to metion this earlier, but I didnt want a new Indiana resident getting all the confusion of the DNR numbers and things. Sorry fo the long post.
