ok so here's the deal, I am not very good at racing and i'm not fast at all, and I want to become a faster rider for racing so I can go out to a race and win, rather than holding back and being affraid to hit big jumps cause flat landing off a big jump hurts and casing them hurts too and i was wondering if someone could take time out to come out to my friends track and help me practice one on one with me so i can become a faster racer. I'll pay cash for teaching me to be a better rider. anyone, please let me know, give me a call too: 1-715-268-4977

If only you was closer.

You shouldn't have to pay anybody, that is what friends are for. Start hanging around at the tracks and make some new friends. Ride often, observe others, and ask questions. Most guys are more than happy to talk when you ask them questions.

well see that's kind of a problem right now. I can't go out to ride cause my quad needs some parts now, and i can't ride until i get the parts. and there aren't any outdoor tracks around me, the nearest outdoor track is an hour and a half drive from where i live. so yea
leveldrummer
well you cant pay someone to train you if your bike isnt running,
and alot of people on this board travel some long distances to ride on tracks.

best thing to do to just ride better is simply ride more, try to goof off more, get control of your bike more. be able to sling it around. as for the jumping, that takes 90% balls and 10% technique, learn what controls do what in the air, try to land rear tires first on most jumps untill you start clearing them consistantly and can land flat on the down slope.

well my quad does run, but the chain is very loose cause both my chain rollers fell off at my last race cause the bolts vibrated loose i guess, i don't know, but both of them were gone after that i race, unless someone took them, but i don't know, i'm not for sure. I know my bottom bolt that was holding the lower chain roller in was tight, and the chain roller was spinning freely, so i don't know how that one came out, but ohwell, i need both chain rollers, a cotter pin for my lower rear shock bolt, shocks need to be revalved cause they're too soft, ride height needs to adjusted up more so i have more ground clearance, cause my shocks sit too low when i'm sitting on my quad, especially the rear shock, and i also need a front bumper. but i'll get those later when i can buy them, oh and i need a few tools to do some stuff to my quad too, and i want to get this stuff done on it before i go ride it again.
someday
if you pay for my gas, i'd prob come help you.

Hey guys.. I am no where near a pro but I am willing to help where I can. I live in Antigo Wi. I have raced my 400ex for 5 years. Just bought a 450. I know a track in Tigerton that cost 10 bucks to ride all day. I'm game for helping anyone. I can even ride this weekend if you want.

Speaking of being a newbie...

I just started into this sport this year. I'm just north of Minnesota border in Canada (I'm 3 hours north of Duluth). I've been riding a few times and am getting used to the quad. I was also looking for tips and techniques. I found this DVD, but I can't buy it as I am in Canada and they only ship to US. Anyone interested in buying it using it for a while and then selling it again. Check it out.

If someone would buy and use it I'd be willing to buy it I could even chip in if you have paypal and we could share it? Let me know. chrs_w@hotmail.com is my address. Thanks.

ive been riding for 15 years, since i was 5. i just started MX once i got my YFZ. the first time on a track i sucked horribly bad, just putting around the track, and every lap id go faster and faster and hit a jump faster and faster. I met a guy at my nearest track i go to every weekend which is an Hour and half away, i just started to follow behind him, match his speeds and watch his lines and it got me over every double, triple, table tops. just cruise around initially, get used to the track at a slow speed, and eventually work on getting a little faster every lap, youll learn how fast to hit jumps, youll learn your lines you like. now im hitting 40+FT table tops, triples, doubles, step ups and what not.
Whomever said its 90% balls and 10% technique is right, its intimidating at first, but once you do it, youre like wtf, thats it? Some can be a little hairy at first, but that 10% will come into play and youll develop technique. all i can say is go for it.

Well jeeze there are a lot of familiar names on here. I'm in central wisconsin (Wisconsin Rapids) and Dyracuse is the closest track that has open riding.

I've got the sweet yellow quad now thanks to a couple members on here (and its kicking ass on the ice btw).
I can't ride until the spring though due to school but I try to get out to Dyracuse in April to practice there before the District 16 race so if you are there just look for me in the pits or something and I'll help you out.
