alot of people have been diggin up some old ass threads lately, we need a smiley to post so others that see it and respond might realize that its a 4 year old thread and let it die again.

I say if we do that then theres no bitching about people asking the same question over and over. It was like that on another site. One would say go search you idiot this has been brought up alot.. And then another would dig up an old thread with a question and they would w00ter cause it's old.

old threads with questions are understandable, im talking about the 2 year old raptor vs yfz, etc, or for sale threads from 06, lol. not all are bad, ive just been noticing a bunch of them lately. it doesnt even bother me, i just thought would be funny to have a smiley diggin a hole or something. diggin up old dead threads.

threads one year and older should be read only. theres no need to drag it back up, but rather, use it as a resource. when searching, you should simply be reading through the posts. should you not understand it, or seek further info, post up a new topic.

a few pointers:

cant figure out jetting? - get an LTR
dont know what suspension is for you? - keep reading
which bumper looks best? - your quad, figure it out
whats the best exhaust? - stock, by far

I agree with you to a point. The old forsale threads are dumb. Yes I am new to the 450 but have been around snowmobiles since was little. The point being saying can't figure out jetting get an LTR is stupid. That would be like me telling another Arctic Cat rider that can't figure out timing buy a ski-doo. Pointless. I had a teacher in highschool that would say a dumb question is easier to fix than a dumb mistake. If you don't like a post its simple don't click on it to open. Just ignore it. When I got my 450 I read the jetting FAQ and Jetting 101. Yes it gave me an idea but most posts kept saying ajust the needle well the 07's don't have that. So I asked about jetting in a post. A couple people respond most were pretty nice. Again I was new to the 450. I can tell you anything you want to know about sleds and a 400ex but the 450 I had no clue. I can tell you now this site has saved me a good chunk of money. We are all here to help each other and to make sport better.

i will gladly admit to having my fair share of stupid topics when i joined the site. i was young and stupid. the young part has changed...the other, i cant speak for. but not once did i post a topic asking what jets to use for my machine. there is an absolute plethora of information about jetting on here along with more then enough pictorial guides for thoes who are unclear on how to go about doing it.

the worst part is that theres no real answer. you can only hope to come close without having a way to monitor your A/F ratio.

but i suppose... icon_eek.gif

I was going through the "tips and tricks" section last night and I bet that over 90% of the pictures that were posted are now gone and dead links. I was just curious at some of the stuff that could be in there w/ 16 pages but even on page two I found that some of the pictures were already gone. I just wish there were some ways to protect the pictures in the tips and tricks.

gota become a supporting member and then upload the pics from your computer right onto the site. otherwise its all depends on if the URL is live.
