I never ride trails only track. But some old buddys called me around 2:30 said hey lets go ridin. I was like cool beats sitting at home. They where ridin 2 stroke 250 cr's and I was on my yfz. We wer ridin and they couldn't belive I was keeping up but as soon as they hit 4th they started pullin from me hard. But anyway we came around a corner he punched hit a tree root out of the ground and lost control and slammed the tree I thought he was ok but he was screamin. Long storie short ambulance came and said he broke his femur!! Said some other things my be broke but the femur was absoultly brokin. Air lifted crazy. This is why I hate trail riding and started riding track full time. Controled enviroment and learn the track nothing new around the corner just the same corner. It was a crazy day! Oh yea it happened 30 minutes into the ride. The sub frame also cracked clean thru not even at a weld and a small crack on the frame above the peg

Bad news. A buddy of mine was riding a trail. He was movin' it out pretty good, came around a corner where people were stopped. Only option was to lay it down. Slid right into a tree and hit it with his head. People that saw it knew that he was dead. After multiple surgeries to reconstruct his face, he's the same ole ugly guy as he was before. Haha!

That bights man, went and did the Silverwood to Lake Arrowhead ride last weekend. Good size group rough on the YFZ frame but was pretty cool, found a few areas i thought needed to be marked for hazards, one where a water pipe was sticking out of the ground.

sorry to hear about your friend, just goes to show you though, different strokes for different folks. personally i can react much better in the woods, come around a turn and hit a root just like that, ill be just fine, put my on a track, try to jump something, end up getting airlifted myself, trails seem much safer to me as long as you have your bearings about you.

Haha sorry to hear, I'm laughing because I'm a disaster when it comes to the track. On the trails I'm right at home... I guess its what you learn to ride on first...
The Femur is debated to be the strongest bone in the body... next to the skull. Wiki says it can hold 30 times a humans weight. Incredible, he must of somehow gone over the handle bars and had his thigh catch the handle bars... Thats what happened to me when I hit my friends dog on his dirtbike heh...

I dunno about that, I was brought up wood's riding & now i hate it. More at home on a track.
