Full Version: Trashed 05 Yfz At Little Sahara
YFZCentral > :::Riding::: > Crash N Burn
dudehaan
Well we're here in Little Sahara on day 3 enjoying beautiful conditions right now and a guy we know blew his yz125 so he borrowed my buddies 05 YFZ and he was going really big, as in 90 feet, and got crossed up at the face of the take off and here's the results. He's fine, just a few bruises and really sore, but no hospital visit.

The ironic part of it, is that he just put insurance on it on Friday. I hope the insurance company doesn't think it's insurance fraud.
leveldrummer
maybe its not as bad as it looks, kinda looks like he just ripped the sub frame off of it and bent the stem. is the guy that was riding it going to spring to fix it?
dudehaan
Sorry, forgot to throw in there, the stem is bent, sub frame snapped in half, airbox trashed, exhaust bent, plastic is all destroyed, bent front bumper, bent ball joint, possible bent axle. I'll add more if we find anything else.
freshy21
sucks big one but ive seen worse shouldnt be that bad to fix get sum used shyt
freshy21
i have sum cheap stock stuff if he choose to go that route
dudehaan
Yeah, he's going to see what the insurance company says and go from there. Def an after market stem and 6pt subframe.
babaffo
Why was he doing that on someone else's bike?
dudehaan
Yeah we're still not sure what he was thinking. But yeah, pretty sure he's going to help out with whatever the insurance company doesn't. Still crazy he wasn't hurt
babaffo
I'd make him pay for everything.

That said now the guy has a chance to get something without a horrid graphics kit on it. It might just be me but I cna't stand them at all. Any of them.

-Sure
-Thanks I'm going to go jump it as far as I can since I normally ride something that can't even get up most hills out here. Hopefully I don't crash.
-Sweet have fun

Hahaha that's funny. He wasn't planning on jumping a 95 foot dune but he must have got a lil to much blood to the balls and not in his brain.
YFZ450Lynx
Man I am glad most of my friends not go crazy on my quad, I do have one crazy friend who I don't let him touch my YFZ cuz he is crazy on his DS650, he can't go out with out rolling it.
biohazard58
exactly y noone rides my quad outa my sight lol i wont let em get far enuf away from me to do nething to hurt it too much money in that thing but that musta hit perfict on the subframe ive never seen one go that far down

Yeah I wouldn't even turn it over to my insurance, the guy that trashed it should be paying for everything out of pocket regardless if it's for aftermarket.

But glad to hear no hospital visits. Everytime we go down there we see at least 3 ambulances leave. Even got the chance to watch some one get life flighted out and down to Oklahoma City.

Yeah if I wrecked someone's quad I'd pay for everything.

Up here in Oregon the paramedics out of Winchester Bay have a sandrail with a V8 in it lol. This thing looks like it was easily 80000 and it has a board on the side of it for accident victims lol. I saw it hauling ass up a hill once and it caught some sweet air lol. The pait job is sweet too. It has a big Bald Eagle and American flag twisty flame graphics. I was like: "SHAZAM!!! now that is a great waste of tax dollars!"

Atleast you know it can mob to come get your @$$ if you crash. :) I want to see it. Maybe this summer when we roll to Winchester.

Im glad he is ok. I always get a bad feeling in my stomach when I see the ambulances or the helicopters over the dunes. Last year a dirtbike and atv crashed head on and that was bad at Sandlake, OR. It was pretty bad.
babaffo
There were 3 deaths at Winchester, 2 at Coos Bay this year... I saw a kid on a Banshee die at Winchester this year. Sucks...
c_olive18
Depending on what kind of ambulance company it was if it was a waste of tax dollars...im on a volunteer rescue squad and fire department and we only get government money for required supplies....we have to have fund raisers and use money from the calls themselves to pay for other things like the 6x6 we have for trail rescues. Donations help alot too.

You sound like your 15 years old. Do you even pay taxes? I'm glad they have a rail like that to get people to the hospital!!!!!!!

Did you hear what happened? I heard there was a dirt biker that bailed on a 150' jump out there that sat. and had to go to the hospital. Is this the same thing or different?

nope that's different. this guy was obly jumping about four feet. he went over a berm and into another. he went over the bars and broke his neck. he died right there at the scene. I hope he wasn't riding alone but I never saw anyone that knew him.
dudehaan
Wow, that's why I always wear my leatte brace whenever I'm jumping. Even if it's small.

What the hell are you babbling about? I'm 17 and I pay taxes. They don't need that rail to get people out they have another one. Thats right there are 2 (a bright yellow one with a V6 and the one I mentioned above) that meds drive. There is also NO hospital in Winchester Bay or anywhere in the area. That means they have to be Life Flighted to Eugene.

You're retarded

Deaths at the dunes suck. I saw a kid on a Banshee get killed out in Winchester Bay last year. He jumped without a spotter and got in a head on collision with a sand rail. Broken neck.
smpgirl450
wow that sucks, I almost got taken out by a sandrail, you really have to keep an eye out

And if you jump at the dunes make sure you have a good spotter. I've had few incidents, but I've been lucky enough to not get hurt. There are many dumb people out at the dunes.

BTW there is a cross a the bottom on Banshee Hill in Winchester Bay because a guy died coming down the hill a few years back. I think there were right around 5 deaths at the Oregon Dunes in 2007. I saw 1, heard 2 (Sandrail accident), and left right before another happened.

guess I need to start finding people to ride with :)
don't blame ya for leaving after that. That's enough to shake anyone up

Those weren't in one day. I left kept riding after the sand rail accident, but I left after I saw that kid die. I was lucky that I had to go home and missed the other one because it was in the area I was hanging out at all day.

Right after I got off the phone with you, I managed to fly off a big dune WOT that I was not prepared for. Totally my fault, I should have known better. I was not wearing my Leatte neck brace and managed to about knock myself out when I landed. I did not crash, but landed hard. It only takes one moment or lack of concentration in the dunes before you can end up hurt badly or dead.

Next time, I will wear my neck brace like I know I should have been.

This?
http://www.yfzcentral.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=78223

Yeah I didn't get hurt from jumping. I don't want to talk about it. It was a moment of stupidity... It had nothing to do with the stories I posted...

I meant I haven't been hurt jumping. A concussion is about it, but thats not really hurt.

Sorry for the mix-up.

Yep insurance gave him around $2000. He has an LSR 6pt subframe and top a-arm, new stem, airbox and exhaust all on the way. We're gusseting the frame and powder coating it here in a few days. He also decided to do some motor work so an 06 crack and he's not sure if he's going to put a big bore on or not. I'll post pics when it's done.
babaffo
Good its getting fixed up... Insurance premiums go up?
