Plans are now in the works for North 40 (Sherman, TX) to host the First Annual International Quad Challenge! We are currently talking to Pro flat track racers from across the USA, Canada and Japan. You are all invited to come and participate in what will be one of the greatest gatherings of ATV riding talent in recent memory!
Classes we are currently planning for include:
Money classes:
Open Pro (Anything goes: engine, tires, etc. safety inspection will be conducted!)
Pro 2-stroke (up to 500cc two stroke, flat track tires only, 50" max width)
Pro 4-stroke (up to 700cc, flat track tires only, 50" max width)
Pro Production (up to 450cc four stroke, stock frame, flat track tires only, 50" max width)
**The open pro class will have a respectable purse. Track Owner David Henry has already offered up a generous amount of money and we are working with other organizations to contribute!
Trophy Classes:(Same rules apply to Pro-Am classes as they do for corresponding Pro class)
Pro-Am 2-stroke
Pro-Am 4-stroke
Pro-Am production
We will also offer youth and pee-wee classes. Bring them and they will race.
Gate fees and race fees will be announced soon.
Right now, we are looking at dates in Late November. That might seem like a long way off, but believe me it will be here before you know it. We also want to be sure and avoid having the date conflict with another race.
Scheduled to race include Canada's #1 plate holder and current Pikes Peak record holder Jim Goertz (JAGS Repairz). And one of Canada's top young riders, Matt Kearsey (just 19), who now holds the 4-stroke record on Pikes Peak. We also have former Pikes Peak Winners, John Stallworth (NMotion engine Guru) and Johnny Angel (Johnny is also one of the top pros in the WORCS series out west). Also, we are hoping to see Japan's top ATV pro, Yoshimune Shirai. And who knows, we might even have a few other surprises, as well.
We have several groups of riders coming down from Colorado, and Kansas and now we need the rest of you, from wherever you are, to come and complete the field.
I'll be there throwing the flags, and with a little luck, my quad will be ready so I can race, too.
Stay tuned for further developments, and tell your friends. Now THIS...is going to be fun.
