Laeger Arms - $600
PEP ARC shocks - $800
Wait Time...priceless, what ever it took to ship 'em...maybe like 5 days. normally this front end would cost about $2300

, and theres no way id ever pay that much. eBaymotors is your friend

performance is exceptional! just the arms alone make a hell of a difference. it handles like its glued to the ground. the big can PEPs have so much adjustment that you can go trail riding and then hit the 70 ft tabletop with just one click (1-8). they are by far the best investment ive made yet

heres mine. not a complete front end but a start. triple rate elka elites. I paid $900 Canadian for them and waited maybe a week. Roll Or herrmann a-arms will be coming soon. can anyone tell me if the top springs on my shocks should be or shouldnt be compressed when sititng on the ground? if they arent supposed to be compressed how do i fix that?
Mustache Ride
Feb 23 2006, 09:35 PM
i dont think the should be compressed....maybe because your shocks are for LT a-arms?
fast_man58
Feb 23 2006, 09:39 PM
yes BFS, they are supposed to be like that. the first spring is part of the SSD (self sagging device) dont worry about it. you wont be able to get roll design arms though...unless you get new shocks
bansheefreestyler
Feb 23 2006, 09:55 PM
ok i thought it might have something to do with that. so the front wheels will stay in contact with the ground in the rough stuff right? is it only elka that has that? and i was talking to Bo at roll and he said he could hook me up with some +2s.

front end alone isnt a 100% cure. it does make a huge difference, but from what im told, the rear is what needs attention to get the "buck" out of it.

front end wont help with crap in a whooped out section really.its better then stock yea but when your going trew whoops your fronts more gliding over wile the rear is takin the beating.get a rear shock or your your stock rebound up and lower the preload.

it depends on the woops, lets say you have a woop section that you can go through at 15 mph tossing you around badly with a stock front end, now the same woop section with an aftermarket front end you can go faster and still feel more comfotable. kinda the same with jumps,if you jump 20 feet and land hard with a stock suspension you can jump the same 20 feet and land softly with an aftermarket suspension. Conclusion, factory shocks get the work done up to a point, if you want to get pass that point use tha chit ,elkas, axis, pep, and others.

they shouldnt take them back? who would want a used pair of mx shocks?
haha. i can see it now, when your contract is up w/ elka they take their shocks back and re sell them, all of us who have elkas are prolly riding on someone elses shocks! what a conspiracy
