QUOTE(Reaction Racing @ Jun 25 2005, 07:29 AM)
I don't know what class to run. We have never raced a XC race before. One of my friends is going to race in the 30+ class. My other friend and I don't know what class to run in. My brother rides a Suzuki LT250R. Are there 2 stroke classes? Any suggestions on which class to run would be appreciated. Any other input is also welcome.
Thanks!

A 250 two stroke would have to run Open A or B or maybe they would be legal in an age class like the over 30. My son races Open A and there are banshees and 250r's in it every once in a while.
FYI the 30+ class is a fast class.

You can look up lap times from previous races on the atvccs website and that might help you figure out where you guys belong. Look at the overall listings and you can see how all the classes compare to each other.
One thing to consider is if you plan to run more races in the future (now or next season) you might want to start in a B class. The reason I say that doesn't have anything to do with your skill level (I don't know what it is) but it is more a function of the fact that you can always move up (voluntarily or otherwise) but moving down would be more trouble once you commit to running an A class.
Also the B class races are an hour plus a lap, usually around 1.5 hours total and the A races are 1.5 hours plus a lap or around 2 hours.
IF your yfz has a stock tank (with your mods) you will definatly need to refuel in an A race. But there are always people around to help with that kind of stuff. Heck people will help with anything they can, it really is a great bunch.
If you are there on Saturday you should run the buddy race it is great practice.
