Hi pondy..I have a fresh axle seal sitting here. I'll measure it my best with a tape measure for you...but I can bring to to work tomorrow and put a set of calipers on it if need be.

O.D. = Looks like .010 to .015 thousandths under 2 5/8's. But it's also probably metric.

The depth of the outer casing of the seal is = Very close to 5/16ths "

I'll take it to work tomorrow and give you more details if needed.
Good luck

firstyly thanks for your reply, this is going to help loads

if you could measure with the caliper that would be great, the houser seals are metric, the size of them is 62mm, i used google and 2 5/8 works out at 66.67mm
im in the uk and we work in metric so you will have to work with me while i convert it all etc icon_biggrin.gif

No prob....I'll try to let you know by lunch tomorrow. 62mm sounds right since it was a little bit smaller. I'll let you know tomorrow what it is in MM.

Look for a number on the seal itself. If you can still read it, call a local bearing supplier and see if they can order it for you.
pondy
there are no numbers on the seal, or the bearing.
the local bearing shop can not souce anything with the same sizes
