umm yeah, when i took my cams off one really was hard to get off, so you can prolly guess what happened. the half moon ring fell down into the motor.(only one) i have the stator case off of it right now(since its the easiest case to pull off) and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to get it out. i tried tipping the wheeler all which directions already.

pull the fly wheel, its prob stuck on the back of it or down where the chain slides are. might be able to get it with a small magnet from an auto parts store

yeah try useing one of those magnets that can reach into places like this, if you have one,its basicly like an RC car antenna but with magnet at the end

keep trying with a magnet. if you cant fien it you might be in for some REAL case splitting.

i have done this befor a couple of times 2 times it was behind the flywheel and once on my friends quad it was just above the flywheel on the cam chain guide not reall hard to get out.a pair of needle nose pliers,a magnet, and a small flashlight should be the only tools needed.
pull the cams and hold the chain to 1 side check for clip if not found hold chain to other side if strill not found it is behind the flywheel and it takes a little prodding around behind there to get it out but not as hard as you think.

Are you sure it went down to the bottom of the motor? I had one fall between the casting surfaces in the head by the valves. It took me forever to find it.

ya im just gonna leave it. are you retarded? why would you even say something that dumb. i didnt even need a magnet. i got it out last night by just takin the flywheel cover off and tipping the wheeler up on its front tires and then all the way over on its left one. it fell right out. please, next time dont leave ignorant posts.

no. you said that you "werent going to split the cases." so how else are you going to get it out if it was deep down in the engine. are you retarded? next time dont leave ignorant posts, Mr. 36 post. =/
and this is over. i hate it when legit threads turn into fight threads. i wont post in this thread any more.

How about a stickied topic."Places to look for the cam clip that you dropped in your motor"?
I did talk to a guy that dropped his clip, couldn't find it right away, so he pulled the motor, split the cases, and still couldn't find it. Somehow, it took a bounce and ended up stuck in his rear shock link. He found it when moved the chassis and it fell to the ground.

How are your cam journals if you said it was hard to get them off? Sounds like they could be scoured.

no, they are just fine, but when theyve been torqued down they are obviously hard to pull off. i already got the clip and already got the cams put back together and the wheeler running. it sure is beastly after this last rebuild!!

If you take one of the cam bolts and screw it into the hole in the top of the cam caps, it make a good handle to pull the caps off with.
