Not sure if anyone has done this or not but thought I ask to see.

I wanted to know if there is a way to rewire the headlight switch so that the lights stay on when the quad w00ters off. There has been a few time it would have been nice to have the lights on but not the quad. Its an 06.

No, not without a bigger battery. The lights run off the magneto in the motor. The starter takes too much juice to turn the motor over and theres not enough to run the lights off.

I was wondering the same thing because I want to put the lights on a different switch and just have the hi and low with no off. I am sure there is a way to do it and I am going to have my electrician friend look at it and if no one responds I will let you know how I do it.

you can have them wired so there always on, but not while its not running.

ok i did do this b.c i recenlty put a hid headlight kit on my quad and i needed dc volts to come out of the head light plugs to kick them on.

what you need to do is find the relay for your lights. its goin to be near ur cdi box. its the relay with the yellow wire with red stripe on it comeing out of it. what i did was from the bottom on the relay i cut like 3" down the yellow wire with red stripe, then take the one coming from ur relay and make a jumper wire. then on ur key switch find the solid brown wire and join the yellow wire with the red stripe. DO NOT USE THE ONE THATS NOT COMMING FROM THE RELAY AFTER YOU CUT IT!!! IM NOT SURE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN THEN. and im not sure if stock head light blubs can run off of d/c power, since there ran from a/c to begin with. but if it does there you go.and u need a bigger stator for high output lights

Sweet Ill have to look into this. I wanted to put HIDs on it anyways, and most likely bigger battery.

Just wondering if anyone know what size/typr of battery the oversized HEP battery boxes use?

if u buy the trialtech stator u shouldnt need a bigger battery. they put out 100 watts on dc power and with there flywheel its 120 dc watts just dont run them long while ur quads off. mine take 55watts a bulb
