Hey im lookin to get some new tires for my 450r, ive been lookin at the holeshots, they look pretty freakin mean!!! Anysuggestions? Also, what size? Same as stock? or...

What riding do you do. Obviously there are tons of suggestions we can offer you. The question is riding style, terrain, and conditions.

Stock rims on your bike are 10 inch. So you can use any tire size as long as it says as the last number:
example 20x11x10.

As for brands. I would stick to ITP or Maxxis. Kenda Klaws have been gaining popularity. Tell us your riding characterizes and we can help you out.

Yea, I ride tracks, trails and whatever! Dunes, but obviously have paddles for that.

no stocks are 9, 20x10x9 so you can get any tire that has the last number 9

Here's a crash course on tire sizing:

first number:
Ranges from 19-23"
This is your tire diameter. A smaller tire for MX, and a larger tire for trails and leisure riding.

second number:
fronts range from 6-8"
rears range from 10-12"

third number:
rim size. Fronts are 10" rim, stock rears are a 9" rim. If you have stock rims (hich i am assuming) you need a tire that ends in 9.

I have holeshots and i absolutely love them. I have 20-6-10 Holeshot MXR6 fronts and 19-10-9 MXR4 rears. They hook up like crazy. They stick in the corner but they can break loose when you want them to.

It all depends on your riding type though. Do you do MX? Trails? A little bit of both? When you answer that question, i can give you very good advice on tire choice.

I would take a look at my set-up then. There small and light for that track but still do really god on the trails; i dont get highcentered at all either. One thing though, they are a pretty soft tire so they do wear faster then normal tires. I've had a good 15 -25 hours of ride time on mine and there still at 95% tread life. It all depends on the terrain you ride, and how you use the throttle.
