Hey gang,
I just tried to install the pro armor revolution pro pegs nerf bars on my YFZ 450R, and could tell right away, THEY WERE WAY OFF FROM FACTORY....at first i almost send it back,,,but shipping was gonna be expensive so i fought with them for a long time at the end i had to put 1 side on the bending machine and get them straight put them back on,,,everything fine,,,but im too far from the heel guard bolt to the subframe on both sides,,,theres no way there will ever get there, maybe using longer bolts. But what a pain in the ass they been.

Its sounds like you talked to pro armor but......did you?
I have had problems with some of their stuff before but most of the time it was because I was installing the bard incorrectly.
They will fight you on it because they get calls like this all the time. What they need to do is send instructions. I've already told them this.
The thing is......they have a jig for nerf bars that they fit EVERY SINGLE NERF BAR to before its packaged for distribution. So they know that the stuff fits.
Make sure you are doing it right and then contact pro armor direct. They will make whatever is wrong right.

Very Very True. I bought a bumper off eBay and it was beat up when I got it. I contacted the seller who pawned me off directly to Pro Armor and I got set up with one of their reps. She paid to have the bumper sent back and shipped me a new one. Both of my PA heel guards broke the bracket that goes to the frame. Again, she paid to have them shipped back, and even though it took them a month, they shipped me brand new ones. One side still doesn't fit right, so they are making another set and they are going to ship those to me and pay for the ones I have to go back. Call them direct, and talk to them, they will make things right.

one nice thing about pro armor is they will replace them and pay shipping back..also if you contact them they will resolve the design problem if they have enough people complain

First time installing nerfs? You need to make sure that every single bolt is loose to almost the point of falling out. Once you get all the bolts in then tighten. If you happen to just tighten one bolt down, it will keep everything from fitting together. Start with the pegs, put both bolts in really loose. Move to the front of the nerf, slide in the front bolts, do not tighten. Then wrestle with the heel guard, the loose bolts provide just enough slop to get the heel guard bolts on place. Once you got them all in, tighten away. All nerf bars are a pain in the but. You have to use a little pressure here and there to get things to fit, nature of the beast. Good luck. I have a YFZ R and I also have the same nerf bars as you.

Should have bought Rath....by far, the most superior nerf on the market.

I agree...I can't speak highly enough to the quality of the Rath nerf bars, or any other Rath products for that matter

I bought a set of pro armor nerf bars for my yfz from a dealer (400.00 Canadian) and they were really ignorant to put on, nothing lined up and the bars had to be bent in order to put the bolts in. After a day around the mx track they come loose and vibrate. they are loose where they slide on the foot pegs. The heel guards have broke numerous times and I keep taking them in to get welded. I think they look really hot but the quality sucks. I never tried phoning them because I figured it would be cheeper for me to pay to have them welded than to ship them to the usa. I should give it a try tho.

it is not you man. I had to use clamps and crowbars and all kinds of stuff to get it to connect to the rear fender bolts.

same here, the sub frame mount is way off, so i just drilled the hole out and stuck a bolt in there, otherwise i think these nerfs are badass

drill through the nerf bar and peg mount and put a bolt through it w/ some red Loc-tite and that will keep them from shifting side to side....thats what I do on any type of nerf that slips on the peg mount like those do and it keeps it snug and in place....and if your bolt is a little long just cut it down after its tightened up
