Im buying a YFZ450 that has hot cams already installed in it. I was wondering what hot cams do and does it do anything to affect the bog? And does it help do to the cam mod if I have hot cams?? Thank you

btw, welcome to the boards. those two topics were stickied at the top of the powertrain section.

they wont help with the bog and you just put them in normally. they are 2 different versions of them. there are stage 1 or 2 (depending on who you talk to but there the same) and a stage 3. the stage 1/2 give you 2-3 hp more on the top than the stage 3 but you loose it on the bottom end. the stage 3 are just to opposite

From what I have read the stock cams out perform the hotcams until about 8000 rpm's. Most people that have the hot cams end up putting the stock ones back in.
