i have a 04 yfz450 that the crank bearing went out on shortly after i bougth it. i have spent all summer tryin to get this bike goin but have hit every bump in the road seems like! i have redone the motor and have everything back together but for some reason the electric start wont turn the motor over, but it will push start just fine. Anyone have any idea where to start? i am about ready to shoot it!

we are going to need a little more info. What is the starter doing? Does it just click? Will the starter move the motor at all?

back by your battery there is a black ground wire make sure it is connected and make sure your neutral switch is connected up front I had the same problem and i searched and found those 2 wires disconnected i connected them a it started

well i have put a new started and battery in it and all it will do is try and turn the motor over. no click but like i say its tryin. sometimes it will turn it once and other times it will turn it a couple times but not fast enough to get it to kick. valve clearnce is good and the motor turns fairly easy. she runs like a champ if i push start it.
