is there anyone out there who does not use one for mx, i have an x factor one, its well built etc but with any skid plate you use it lowers the ground clearance and sometime i get hung up on things, i can get a rear brake disc that is double thickness so not worried about bending that, i have a houser swingarm skid plate with banshee chain guide, will i be ok with this set up?

ive never used a swing arm skid. ive tried a few things, but prefer just to not use one. ive seen lots of people get hung up on ruts and loose positions due to having a skid plate.
i have tried that sprocket gaurd from gt thunder, but once i saw my buddy get mud and small rocks stuck in it, and pulled his counter shaft out of his cases, ive since taken mine off!
i just keep extra rotors in the trailer, as well as a small sledge to hammer the rotor back to "straight" between motos.

thanks for the reply, i went to a local race event, no one had a skid plate

i know what i pain it is to get hung up when you have a skid on due to the poor ground clearance, im going to get this thicker rotor then remove it
thanks
sam
