I'm not really a fan. Had one on my Warrior and it was alright. I personally prefer the thumb throttle.

There is a reason why quads have thumbs vs twists. On my bike a twist makes sense... on a quad it doesn't. I know for myself if I had a twist throttle on my quad I would have been in trouble many times in turns where I have pulled back on the right side of the bar where if there was a twist I would have rolled the throttle open more that I intended to. Some people I know have ran with a twist for so long it is natural for them, but for me bouncing between my bike and quad I know I'd f*%# up.

I agree, twist throttles have no place on a off road quad. I had one on my banshee when I bought it and it came off real quick!!!!! Too dangerous

I also agree that twist throttles have their places on quads and dirt bikes. I had a twist throttle on my 250R (quad) and it had me in plenty of situations I wouldn't have been in if I would have had a thumb throttle on there. I had to switch it back to thumb throttle. Some people can do it fine on a quad though. I guess it is just all about rider preference...

I race mx and at first i thought it was going to be a bad idea having it on but my thumb was getting to sore with thumb throttle and i will need time and practice getting use to it. You will need alot of time to get us to it.

I prefer to use the thumb trottle for quads, , makes it easyer i think. But the stock Thumb trottle on the YFZ are always so hard and make ur thumb so sore, im used to it now tho

Rode with a twist from 2000 up to last year. Never had a real issue with it but I do notice that I have better control with my thumb throttle. Able to use more body english.

I dont know what you guys are talking about!?!?!?!
WORCS #1 plate this yr Beau Baron has a twist
GNCC#1 plate this yr. Chris Borich has a twistBoth Dustin Nelson and Jeremie Warnia in ITP Quadcross run twist throttles.
I believe there are a few reasons why most Atv riders dont run twists, 1, they are blipper's (blip the throttle) and 2, are out of shape. Guys who are in shape are over the bars, off the seat, eblows up all the time & re-gripping. while those who I know who dont like twists fatique quickly. Or you just have personal preference for a thumb throttle.

i bought a twist throttle thinking i'd like to try it... ( i cant even ride yet ) i let my buddy take my quad out behind my house in my woods section i ride in and he went to corner and couldnt lean and twist correctly like he could with the thumb...
i took it off
anyone wanna buy a barely used pro motion twisty?

Twist is the best way to ride in my personal opinion. I dont get arm pump or a sore thumb anymore now that i have switched. In desert racing it definently makes the difference when I have to race a 20 to 50 mile track 3 to 4 times. It will pay off in the end.

It's personal preference. I used to hate the thought of a twist, but now they are fine. Either way, I'm ok.......

I have a twist throttle on mine and would not see it any other way. This is my first quad, rode dirt bikes all my life so I am real use to the twist.

I have a screw in my right wrist that limits my range of motion. If I were to put a twist on I gaurantee I wouldn't be able to apply the throttle at all in a right hand turn.

twist takes time to get used to, but it pays off. I have no regrets. I dont end up in fences or trees.. I end up on podiums

twist all the way, 1/4 turn, no more sore thumb, i think it works best with a steering stabilizer

twist and thumb throttles are a matter of personal oppinion. if you'd prefer to have a twist over a thumb go for it. if you would rather have a thumb then stick wih it.
personally i like a thumb throttle.

My BF crashed pretty bad because he put a twist throttle on his banshee. He did a catwalk and pulled back a little to much and twisted the throttle sending him into a rock. I heard if you find the thumb throttle to hard to push, to put a honda throttle on it.

I don't find the thumb throttle hard at all but from December to April I ride snowmobile and pull open dual TM 40 flat-sides and an oil pump so when i get back on the YFZ its like a walk in the park lol

I agree with with the personal opinion, I rode bikes for 5 years and when I first got my quad I put a twist throttle on and figured it wouldn't be a big deal but when it came down to it...it came off real fast...Thumb throttles are the only way to go!

I've had both. When i first put the twist on there i took it easy but as soon as i figured it out i prefer that over the thumb. turning is a little trickier but i can do it just as easy with the twist as i can with the thumb. plus no more sore thumb even tho i have a honda throttle. but if u gonna get one get a 1/4 turn
