Whats goin on guys been lurking around this site and couldnt remember if I posted an intro or not. So I decedied what the hell I will just make one anyway. Names Mike, I live in Dallas Tx, and traded my 76 nova rollor for an 06 YFZ450. Thought it was a preaty good trade on my end. The quad has a K&N filter with a stage 2 hot cam. Also has some body acc. Hopefully i'll have it torn apart and and powder coated in feb. along with an extended swing arm, with its own axle and gear setup for dragin it. Wanna have the best of both worlds. Ive been trying to race a banshee and I hang with him, but I think if I could keep the front end down and gain a little more on the top end Im sure I could beet him. Here is a pic of what I got.

Welcome to the site man! Nice quad also.
Sounds like you got some great ideas for it. Are you guys fabbing up the swinger yourselves? Not sure if it has any mods on it now, but as far as an intake goes, look no further the the Fuel Customs Intake system. It's a pricy kit, but the gains are well worth the money. As far as exhaust goes, well that can turn into a pissing match real quick on any forum. But if you're gonna be dragging mostly, look for something that shines at the top of the powerband like possibly a JSR system or the old NMotion set-up. My recommendation would be to go over to the powertrain section and look through the "sticky" thread at the top of the page about pipes and dyno runs and go from there. If you have any questions feel free to strat a thread to get some opinions on it in the YFZ powertrain sub forum. |

Yes were fabbing the swinger our selves, ive been looking in the power train section and I have a few ideas. Im mainly trying to figure out the gearing, not having alot of luck. I know you go up in the front or down in the back for more topend but im trying to find a way to calculate top speed with certain gears.
